Living Room
This can be accommodated in most directions.
The centre of the house may be used.
Entertainment Room
This is an important place and the suitable directions
for it is North-West or South.
Drawing Room
It should be in North-West, South or west direction. In
the traditional drawing rooms mattresses, covered with
white sheets of cloth are spread in the entire room and
round pillows are kept in South and West walls. Similarly,
in the modern drawing room, the furniture should be kept
in South and West directions. As far as possible the open
space should be maximum in North and East directions.
The living room of the central zone (Brahmasthan) should
be free from any kind of obstructions. By obstructions,
we mean any kind of beam, pillar, fixture, toilet, staircase
or even a wall or lift.
Guest Room
It should be in North-West corner.
Prayer Room
The N-E is the best location. The Deity facing the West
and the person offering prayers facing the East is the
best.
However, the Deity facing the East or North is also acceptable.
In a multistoried building the prayer room must be on
the ground floor. |
